Business and portfolio development in the Portfolio Management Office

E.ON Energidistribution is in a transformative phase where the focus is on developing both it's own and the electricity grid business, in order to meet the increasing demands from electrification and the energy transition. The strategic move is ambitious and requires IT development, innovation, technology development and operational development to be coordinated, prioritized and coordinated.

An important piece of the puzzle in succeeding with this is the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) department, which since the start-up in 2020 has played an important role in the development work within E.ON Energidistribution.

Novion was involved in the start-up of the PMO and then delivered for almost three years in different areas with different responsibilities and focuses. Novion's contribution included everything from strategic positions to operational commitment and was carried out as part of a team at the customer. Novion always had E.ON's best interests in focus and the collaboration has been characterized by strong trust and responsiveness from both sides.

With the support of Novion, the PMO pushed through an extensive restructuring of processes and working methods (resource allocation, planning, prioritization) in the development portfolio. During the journey, Novion has also been involved in developing a portfolio overview, produced a comprehensive onboarding package, designed an internal communication platform, and further developed templates for business cases, prioritization and planning.
